Isabelle Poutrin
Isabelle Poutrin is Full Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne and Principal Investigator of the ERC Project Rotarom17 “Delivering justice on a transnational scale in Europe. The Papal Court of the Roman Rota and the enforcement of a legal culture of negotiation (c. 1560-1700)” (Ecole française de Rome and University of Reims). Her research on coercion and consent in early modern catholic States of Southern Europe explores the conversion of minorities as well as practices of coercion in the family sphere. Among her publications : Convertir les musulmans. Espagne, 1491-1609 (Puf, Paris, 2012), Dictionnaire du fouet et de la fessée.
